The Proteomics Core is a fully equipped, cutting-edge facility featuring the equipment below:

Eksigent nanoLC-2D

• Nanoliter flow rates
• 2 independent channels for multiplexed analysis
• Autosampler with cooling tray

Thermo LTQ Orbitrap XL

• Femtomole (10e-15) sensitivity
• High mass accuracy (low part per million)
• Two detectors that can operate simultaneously

Proteomics Core Software

Data analysis is conducted using two complementary protein database programs:

Thermo Bioworks Software
Provides identification of proteins and their post-translational modifications.

Protein Scaffold Software
Provides identification of proteins and their post-translational modifications using XTandem!   Features include:

• Provides statistical analysis of data
• Can combine Bioworks and XTandem! results
• Free viewer available for download at Proteome Software website
• Provides relative quantitation by spectral counting
