Research Ethics Program

The Research Ethics Program works with other CTSI centers and programs to conduct and provide complete ethics support and novel ethics research, particularly in regard to issues most critical to our diverse and often vulnerable Los Angeles population.

Our aims are:

1. To provide support to investigators and clinicians in identifying and addressing ethical issues during the planning and conduct of clinical and translational research, including novel issues in community research and access to the results of research.

2. To work with the other CTSI centers and programs to identify educational and training needs in research ethics and work with the Center for Education, Training, and Career Development (CETCD) to develop programs and materials to address those needs, especially of researchers moving from bench to bedside.

3. To conduct novel ethics research within the CTSI and/or in collaboration with other institutions in the National CTSA Consortium, and to disseminate our findings.
